A distinguished send-off dinner honored His Excellency Mr. Eliphas Mugendi Barine, Kenya’s pioneering resident High Commissioner to Ghana.

The event which was held at  Yaya Parisienne in Cantonments drew a prestigious gathering including the Togo Ambassador, His Excellency Mr. Silver Ojakol,  the Chief of Staff of the Africa Continental Free Trade Secretariat. Also in attendance were key figures such as the the chair of the event – Dr. Humphrey Ayim-Darke, President of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), along with representatives from the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) and the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC).

The evening was not only a farewell but also a vibrant occasion for networking, centering discussions on enhancing cross-border trade and investment between Ghana and Kenya. The President of AGI, emphasised the critical role of bilateral relations in fostering mutual growth and prosperity.

Guests were treated to a delightful array of culinary offerings showcasing a fusion of French cuisine with the rich cultural  heritage of West Africa served with Ghanaian friendliness.

A highlight of the evening was the ceremonial toast featuring the Sahara Solace drink, a female  renowned Ghanaian butterscotch-flavored liqueur co founded by the CEO of AA Foods, Pearl Naheema Hanson. The toast was led by the Dr Ayim-Darke, in a symbolic gesture signifying the collaborative spirit and promising future of Ghana-Kenya relations. The choice of the Sahara Solace drink highlighted its burgeoning influence in the beverage industry and its potential as a catalyst for economic partnerships.

As a token of appreciation, a specially crafted wooden box set containing a 700 ml bottle of the Sahara Solace drink and a wooden cup was personalized and presented to His Excellency, the Kenyan Resident High Commissioner to Ghana symbolising gratitude and respect.

The event underscored unity and shared aspirations, providing a pivotal platform for cultivating enduring business ties and driving economic advancement for both nations.

A send-off party was held for HE Mr. Eliphas Mugendi Barine, with a special toast featuring the Sahara Solace drink. The event was organized by Mr. Dela Gadzanku, Regional AGI Chairman for the Eastern, Oti, and Volta regions. The toast with Sahara Solace reflected the brand’s excellence and its ability to promote cross-border trade. The event wished HE Mr. Eliphas Mugendi Barine and his family all the best in their new journey.
