Ghanaians are happy people regardless of economic hardship, says former French ambassador
French diplomat Anne Sophie Ave has said she loves being in Ghana because everything and everyone in the country “is happy and cool”.
Speaking on the Between Hours Show on Tuesday (14 March), she said, “It feels amazing; everyone is kind; everything here [in Ghana] is cool.”
“And of course we know there’s hardship; I’m not saying everything is perfect, but Ghana is different. There are no hardships in Europe, but people are still not happy; Ghana is different. They seize the day and be happy.”
Ghanaian music
According to the Queen Mother of Hani, Bonobutu, Ghanaian music should be played on French radio stations as well.
“When I came here, I discovered that we have incredible artistes, and what came to mind is: why are these guys not on every French radio station?” she asked
“Anytime I was welcoming French diplomats in Ghana, I played Ghanaian music, and they found these songs amazing.”
The founder of Akosua Fund added that, “What I did was close the bridge between Ghana and France through music. They [Ghanaian artists] are so good, they just need a little push.”
