Simply FAB! What Dentaa Amoateng, Rihanna, Angela Bassett and more wore at the NAACP Image Awards 2020

Ghanaian TV personality and entrepreneur, Dentaa Amoateng was among the stylish black people at the 51st annual NAACP Image Awards, held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, California, last night.

A-list African American stars brought their sartorial A-game.

Tracee Ellis Ross turned heads as she hit the carpet in a deep purple taffeta gown featuring a plunging neckline and bold shoulders from designer Christopher John Rogers paired with pointy nude embellished Christian Louboutin pumps.

Rihanna wore a vibrant purple ruffled dress from Givenchy’s spring 2020 couture collection with a pair of strappy purple sandals that laced up her calves.

Angela Bassett wowed in a sculptural green Azzi & Osta Couture gown featuring a belted waist and a thigh-high slit with a coordinating clutch, sandals and jewelry.

Janelle Monae arrived in a midriff-baring gown with a black long sleeve top and a vibrant orange skirt. She complemented her look with futuristic earrings and three silver Alexis Bittar chokers around her neck and one in her hair.

Lizzo hit the carpet in a colorful custom multi-patterned Mary Katrantzou dress paired with black sandals. She accessorised with a gold clutch and matching jewelry.

Tiffany Haddish chose a shimmery silver-sequined two-piece look consisting of an off-the-shoulder top and a streamlined skirt. She matched it well with silver bejeweled sandals featuring a spiral silhouette.
