Starbucks to Launch Synthetic Meat Menu in China With Beyond Meat

1 Mins read

American coffee chain Starbucks plans to start selling artificial meat in China made by Beyond Meat.

The move will be Beyond’s first step into the Chinese market, NetEase Tech reported today, citing a statement from Starbucks yesterday. Beyond already has plans to set up accounts on Chinese social media platforms WeChat and Weibo to ramp up its marketing.

Starbucks has now re-opened more than 95 percent of its China stores after shutting them to help prevent the spread of Covid-19, Chief Financial Officer Pat Grismer said in a notice to shareholders on April 8.
